Box Score Flemington, NJ - Despite two hits and two runs scored by
Carlo Francisco the Lightning (7-16) fell to Centenary College (12-9) in a non-conference tilt in Flemington, NJ.
Lehman surrendered four runs in the bottom of the first and never overcame the deficit. Starting pitcher Christopher Rodriguez, was limited to one inning after giving up four runs on four hits all with two outs. Lehman was able to get on the scoreboard in the third.
Socrates Arevalo drew a two out walk and was driven home on a triple by
Steve Cuello down the right field line. Lehman plated another run in the sixth to cut the deficit to 4-2. Francisco doubled to lead off the inning.
Juan Arias singled to left to move Francisco to third. He later scored on a sacrifice fly by
James Kennedy. The Cyclones scored five runs in the seventh to break the game open. All the runs, like the first inning, came with two outs. The Lightning rounded out the scoring in the seventh as Francisco led off with a double down the right field line. He advanced to third on a single by
Natanael Toribio and scored on a single on to left by Chris Lopez.
Centenary starting pitcher Trey Hinkle was credited with the win, his fourth of the season after pitching five innings and striking out six.
The Lightning step back into CUNYAC play on Thursday afternoon as they host a twi-night doubleheader against the Dolphins of CSI.
