Bronx, NY – The Lehman College men's tennis team and baseball team will both be in action later today. Tennis will host CSI while baseball will play at Centenary.
The Lehman College men's tennis team is back in action today hosting the College of Staten Island (2-4:1-2). The Lightning (2-6:1-2) hopes the third time is the charm as this contest has been postponed twice because of weather. Action on the Apex Courts begins at 4:00 PM.
The Lightning are riding a two game winning streak. Victories have come over Sarah Lawrence and York. Lehman is scheduled to have two more home matches this week. On Tuesday the Lightning are set to battle CUNYAC rival John Jay. On Wednesday, Lehman will step out of league play to face St. Joseph's College (BRKLYN). This four match home stand is Lightning's the longest of the season.
The baseball team will travel to Hackettstown, NJ to face Centenary College in a non-league affair. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM at Diamond Nation (Flemington, NJ).
In their most recent outing the Lightning got a complete game shut out from freshman hurler
Jose Albrincole. The right hander shut down John Jay for his second victory of the season while striking out four and only giving up six hits. In both of his wins, the Lightning (7-15) did not surrender a run. Lehman pounded out 13 hits en route to the 6-0 conference victory.
Juan Arias was a perfect four for four in the nightcap.
Steve Cuello and
Natanael Toribio added three hits apiece.
The Cyclones enter the game with a record of 11-9. They did not play this past weekend. In their last outing (4/6), they fell to NJCU 9-7.
