Lightning Prep For a Busy Weekend

Bronx, NY - Lehman College athletes have a busy weekend ahead of themselves as every team that is in season will be competeing.

Men's Tennis
The men's tennis team will travel to CCNY for a conference tilt against the Beavers on Friday afternoon.  Lehman enters play with a 3-8 overall record and a 1-4 mark in conference play.  The Beavers sport a 3-6:0-4 record and most recently dropped 5-4 decision against CUNYAC rival Hunter.  Lehman concluded a four game home stand earlier this week downing St. Joseph's (BRKLYN) 6-3.  Lehman prevailed at first and second doubles and at the top four singles spot.  Action at Crotonia Park is scheduled to get underway at 3:30 PM.

Softball
The women's softball team was forced to postpone a pair of double headers during the past week.  The Lightning have not seen an opponent since last Saturday's victories over York College.  On Saturday, Lehman will travel to Phoenixville, PA to take on the Patriots of the University of Valley Forge in a non-conference double header beginning at noon.  Lehman comes into action with a record of 5-11.  The Patriots stand at 2-15 with a double header scheduled for Friday at Trinity University in Washington, DC.

Baseball
The Lightning will be back on the diamond on Saturday afternoon to face CUNYAC rival CCNY.  The Beavers stand at 3-24:0-1 and have not played since last Saturday as they were only able to complete the first game of a double header against Baruch.  The Lightning had a trifecta of mid-week contests which did not end as Lehman (7-18:1-3) would have liked.  The Lightning came out on the short end on a non-conference game at Centenary and dropped both ends of a conference doubleheader against CSI.
Action from Randall's Island begins at noon.

Track and Field
The Lehman College track and field teams will travel to Kings Point, NY on Sunday to participate in the Coach Omeltchenko Invitational.  Action from the United States Merchant Marine Academy is set to get underway at 10:00 AM.
