Farmingdale, NY – The Lehman College baseball team (8-20) fell 10-2 to Farmingdale (14-12) in a non-conference game.
The Rams plated two runs in each of the first three innings. The Lightning got on the board in their half of the third.
Steve Cuello singled to center field to start the inning. He advanced to third on a pair of wild pitches and later scored on a sacrifice fly. The Lightning added a run in the sixth.
Natanael Toribio led off the frame with a hit by pitch and quickly stole second. He advanced to third on a fly out to centerfield. He scored a sacrifice fly to cut the lead to 6-2. However, the Rams responded with three runs in the bottom of the sixth and added an insurance run in the seventh for the final margin.
James Kennedy was the only Lightning to record multiple hits. The designated hitter was 2-4, both singles. Tommy Montilli suffered his first loss of the season. He now stands a 3-1.
The Lightning are back in action on Saturday as they face Baruch in their final conference double header of the season.
