Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's swimming team fell to Hunter College, 123-77, in a competitive meet played at the Apex Pool. With the defeat, the Lightning are now 1-2 on the season.
Lehman won five of the 12 events in the meet. The grouping of
Sarina Eshtiaghi,
Yaidee Nieves,
Angela Mejia and
Christina Hitchman won the 200 yard medley relay in a time of 2:02.85, edging out Hunter by .15. Eshtiagi was the leader once again, capturing first in the 200 freestyle by over two seconds (2:08.31). She also dominated the field in the 100 backstroke with a winning time of 1:03.37, more than 3.5 seconds ahead of the second place finisher. Not to be outdone, Mejia won a pair of events as well, clocking times of 27.11 in the 50 freestyle and 1:01.18 in the 100 free.
The Lehman College women's swimming team returns to action on Monday, November 20, when they travel to Purchase, New York for a 6PM meet with SUNY Purchase.
