Farmingdale, NY – The Lehman College (5-11) baseball team dropped both ends of the non-league doubleheader against the Rams of Farmingdale 14-4 and 5-3.
The Lightning scored two runs in the first on a walk, a double by Jeff Ledesma and a single by
Carlo Francisco. However, the Rams plated four in each of the first two innings. The Rams onslaught continued as they scored runs in each inning. Farmingdale knocked 20 hits in route to the victory. The Lightning plated their other two runs in the sixth. Francisco led off the frame with a triple and scored on a passed ball. Chris Lopez also delivered a three bagger and scored on a
Jaime Maldonado ground out.
Lehman got all six hits from Lopez, Ledesma and Francisco who were each credited with two.
In game two, the Rams jumped out to a 4-0 lead scoring two in the first and one in the second and third. Lehman scored three in the sixth. M Figueroa worked a walk and after a Ledesma single to right the Lightning had two on and one out.
Natanael Toribio then tripled to right scoring two. A sacrifice fly by Francisco to center field plated the Lightning's final run. The Rams added an insurance run in the home half of the frame. The Lightning were unable to threaten in the final inning.
Lehman will have to regroup as they host Baruch Saturday at 1:00 PM.
