Lightning to Host New Paltz in Regular Season Finale

Bronx, NY – The Lehman College baseball team will play host to SUNY New Paltz at 4:00 PM today on the South Field in the final regular season game for both teams.

Lehman (10-24) is coming off a 9-8 victory over Staten Island yesterday.  The win gives the Lightning a two game winning streak.  Over the weekend Lehman split a double header with the CUNYAC leader, CSI.  Yesterday, centerfielder Steve Cuello was the playing of the game.  The senior smacked a pair of home runs including a three-run in the eight to give the Lightning a 9-8 lead.  Matt Prevosti came in the ninth to earn the save as Jose Albrincole picked up the win. 

On Saturday, the Hawks split a double header with Brockport.  New Paltz (17-16) has qualified as the fourth seed in the upcoming SUNYAC post season tournament.  The Hawks will take on top seed and #9 ranked nationally Oswego in the opening round on Friday.

Lehman, the fifth seed in the upcoming CUNYAC tournament will face John Jay in the opening round on Thursday. 

Before the start of today's game the Lightning will honor the seniors on the squad.  Fans unable to make the trip to the South Field can follow all of the action on line via live stats and live stream.
