New York, NY - The Lightning women's swimming team opened CUNYAC competition with a 55-31 loss at Hunter.
After Hunter won the first two events (200 Medley Relay and 1000 Free), Sarina Eshtiaghi won the 200 yard free in a time of 2:09.78. Hunter would go onto to win the next four events (50 Free, 200 IM, 100 Fly and 100 Free) before Eshtiaghi hit the water again and prevailed in the 100 Back in a time of 1:03.67. After a Hunter victory in the 500 Free, Lehman's Patricia Gonzalez took home first place points in the 100 Back. The Lightning quartet of Paola Gonzalez, Arlette Garcia-Estudillo, Citlalli Cureno and Arizbeth Alverez were declared victors in the 200 Free Relay to end the night.
The Lightning return to the pool on Saturday afternoon as they host Western Connecticut at 1 PM.
