Bronx, N.Y. – Two Lehman College athletic teams will be in twin-bill action, at home, on Wednesday as men's soccer team hosts Hunter College in a CUNYAC encounter at South Field with kickoff slated for 4 pm, while women's volleyball squad welcomes Western Connecticut State at The APEX Main Gym starting at 7 pm.
The Lightning soccer side (7-3; 2-1 CUNYAC) are coming off a 2-1 conference loss at Brooklyn College over the weekend. Meanwhile, the Hawks (2-5-1; 1-0 CUNYAC) defeated the visiting Brooklyn Bulldogs, 3-1, last Wednesday.
Lehman has won four of the last six head-to-head encounters against Hunter. The last meeting between the two sides took place at South Field on October 24, 2018, during the CUNYAC Tournament Quarterfinals with the Lightning posting a 5-3 win on penalty kicks. After a thrilling 3-3 draw at the end of regulation and two sudden death overtime periods, Lehman prevailed in the shootout after goalkeeper
Chris Mulholland saved one of Hunter's pks and the Lightning scored all five kicks for the victory.

Also, on Wednesday, Lightning volleyball (2-13) return home to take on the Colonials (11-3). Lehman is coming off three set loss (10-25, 12-25, 5-25) non-conference match at Cedar Crest College on Saturday, while Western Connecticut went two-for-two in a home tri-match against Sarah Lawrence (3-0: 25-10, 25-18, 25-18) and conference rival Rhode Island College (3-1: 25-18, 25-18, 20-25, 25-16).
The Colonials have won the last two head-to-head meetings, since 2014, against the Lightning. The previous encounter between the two squads took place on September 15, 2018 in Danbury, Conn., with the hosts winning in three consecutive sets (25-11, 25-9, 25-6).
Eriadna Vasquez had four kills and five digs for Lehman.
