The Lightning women, who finished regular season with 4-10 record and 4-1 in CUNYAC, are seeded #2 in the conference tournament and will meet third seeded Beavers (6-8; 3-2 CUNYAC) on #SemifinalSaturday.

The #SemifinalSaturday victor will advance to take on the winner of the other CUNYAC Semifinal between John Jay/Brooklyn in the conference tournament final on November 9th.  The conference champion will secure a berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Lehman concluded its regular season and conference play at home with a 1-0 win over Brooklyn on last weekend (October 26th).  Midfielder Melanie Huerta scored the game-winner, while goalkeeper Rebecca Gritz made three saves for the shutout victory.  Meanwhile, the CCNY also ended its regular season last weekend with a 3-0 loss to conference leader John Jay.

Since 2012, CCNY holds a 6-5 advantage in the head-to-head series against Lehman, however, the Lightning have won five of the last seven meetings against the Beavers.  The previous meeting between the two sides took place this past September (25th) at South Field with goals from midfielder Melanie Huerta and defender Micaela Canapa gave Lehman a 2-0 win.

Also on #SemifinalSaturday at South Field, the Lightning men, who finished the regular season with an 11-4 ledger and 6-1 mark in CUNYAC, claimed the number one seed in the conference tournament and faces John Jay (6-10; 3-4 CUNYAC), who was victorious, 4-1, in the quarterfinal game against hosts Brooklyn this past Wednesday.

The #SemifinalSaturday victor will progress conference tournament final on November 9th to play the winner of the other CUNYAC Semifinal between Hunter College/Baruch College.  The conference champion will secure a berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Lehman is coming off a 4-1 victory over hosts Medgar Evers College in its regular season and conference finale on Oct. 23rd.  Forward Mubarak Ouro scored twice, while midfielder Joel Arevalo and forward Ebenezer Otoo each added a tally for the Lightning.

The Lightning have won 10 of 12 head-to-head encounters against the Bloodhounds, since 2009.  In the previous meeting this season, defender Dominic Dixon scored game-winner in overtime to lift Lehman to a 1-0 victory against visiting John Jay, on Oct. 19th
