Myrtle Beach, S.C. – The Lehman College baseball team heads to South Carolina to compete at The Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach as it takes on Johnson & Wales University at 2:30 pm on Friday and then at 6 pm faces Fredonia State University.
The Lightning (1-1) are making their fourth consecutive appearance playing at Myrtle Beach's Ripken Experience Complex.
Lehman is coming off a twin-bill split at Centenary University last Friday at Diamond National Field. After dropping the opener, 1-0, the Lightning posted a 10-0 blanking in the nightcap. Catcher
Anthony Riley led the offense going 2-for-3 with 3 RBI, while third baseman
Emmanuel Frias also went 2-for-3 and scored two runs. First baseman
Mark Vargas added a home run as he went 2-for-5, while starting pitcher
Jarret Oehler had a three-hit shutout with five strikeouts for the Lightning.
Lehman faces Johnson & Wales (1-1) for a second straight year at The Ripken Experience, with the previous encounter had the Wildcats post a 14-2 victory on March 3, 2018.
In Friday's nightcap, Lehman meets Fredonia for the first time at The Ripken Experience since Mar. 5, 2017, when the Blue Devils won 8-4.
