Bronx, NY – Today starts the CUNYAC baseball season as four CUNYAC teams will be in action highlighted with the Baruch Bearcats (4-8) traveling to the South Field to face the Lightning (4-12). 
 
This year conference foes will be each other in a three game series.  With the top two teams moving onto the CUNYAC Championships Series.  The winner of the Championship will then travel to the winner of the North Atlantic Conference for a three game set with a berth to the NCAA Tournament on the line.  This weekend will also feature a three game set between CCNY and CSI. 

In their most recent outing the Lightning came out on the short end of a 17-6 decision against Purchase.  Jeremy Santos led the Lightning charge with four RBI including a three-run homer over the right field fence. 

In their first action in a week, the Bearcats fell to Jersey City 7-4.  Angelo Alessandro and Nicholas Valeriano each had multiple hits for the Bearcats.
