Bronx, N.Y. – Two Lehman College athletic teams will host match-ups on Tuesday as the baseball squad will take on Rutgers-Newark in a non-conference encounter at South Field with first pitch set for 4 pm, while the men's volleyball welcomes Hunter College at 6 pm in its CUNYAC season finale at The APEX Gym.
The Lightning sluggers (5-14) dropped a CUNYAC twin-bill against hosts Baruch College at Coney Island's MCU Park on Saturday. After losing the opener 2-1, Lehman fell 10-5 in the nightcap. Meanwhile, Rutgers-Newark Scarlet Raiders (5-8) are coming off back-to-back conference losses at College of New Jersey, 7-1; 5-3, on Saturday.
Rutgers has won four of the last five head-to-head meetings against Lehman since 2008, however, the Lightning were victorious in the previous encounter, 8-7, in Newark, on March 26, 2018.

Also on Tuesday, the Lightning volleyballers (3-20; 0-6 CUNYAC) compete in their regular season conference finale against first-place – Hunter College (15-11; 6-0 CUNYAC).

The Lightning are coming off consecutive 3-0 set losses against Ramapo College and hosts Cairn University on Saturday at Langhorne, Pa. Meanwhile, the Hawks also dropped a pair of matches (3-0) on the road on Saturday against nationally ranked teams of #8-Endicott College and hosts #2-Springfield College.
The last time Lehman-Hunter faced off was on April 13, 2018, during the CUNYAC Championship Semifinals at Baruch College. The Hawks prevailed over the Lightning, winning three straight sets (25-16, 25-18, 26-24).
