Three Lightning Sides See Action On Wednesday

Bronx, N.Y. – Three Lehman College athletic teams will see action on Wednesday as men's soccer and women's volleyball sides will be on the road, while women's soccer has its home opener.

After starting out the fall season with five consecutive road encounters, the Lightning women's soccer squad (0-5) will be looking for their first victory as they welcome the Valiants of Manhattanville College (0-3) in a non-conference game at South Field starting a 5 pm.

Manhattanville has won the last two meetings, since 2016, against Lehman.  The previous encounter took place on September 26, 2017, with the hosts Valiants posting a 4-0 victory in Purchase, N.Y.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, the Lightning men's soccer (4-0) are aiming to remain undefeated as they travel to Purchase, N.Y. for non-conference match-up against the Panthers of Purchase College (1-1) at 7 pm.

Lehman is winless in its last three head-to-head encounters against Purchase, since 2012.  The previous meeting between the two sides was on Sept. 13, 2018, with the visiting Panthers earning a 2-1 overtime victory at South Field. 

Rounding out Lightning's action on Wednesday, are volleyballers (1-6) visit non-conference opponent Bard College (2-2) at Stevenson Athletic Center in Annandale-On-Hudson, N.Y. with first serve set for 7 pm.

The Raptors have won three of the last four head-to-head meetings against the Lightning since 2008.  The previous encounter was held on Sept. 5, 2017, with hosts Bard winning in three straight sets (8-25, 12-25, 23-25).
