Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College baseball team will commence its 2020 season on Friday when it visits Centenary University for a non-conference twin-bill at Our Diamond Dreams Field in Hackettstown, N.J. with first pitch starting at 11 am.

Under sixth year head coach,
James Cisco, the Lightning are aiming to improve from last year which they just missed the CUNYAC postseason playoffs.
Among the 14 Lehman returnees from 2019 is CUNYAC Pitcher of the Year,
Jarret Oehler, who also led the conference in innings (72.2), victories (five) and strikeouts (91).
Also, back for the Lightning are infielders
Anthony Riley and
Jeremmy Santos as they were second and third in batting averages with .373 and .352, respectively. Riley, who was recipient of Coaches Award, also scored 10 runs with 27 RBI, while seeing action in all 33 encounters, while Santos, who was named to CUNYAC All-Star, played 31 games and was in several conference offensive categories: fifth in runs scored (30); third in RBI (29) and home runs (five).
Meanwhile, Centenary, which open this season after going 17-19 in 2019, have won five out of the last six head-to-head meetings against Lehman, however, last season both sides earned a split of a doubleheader on February 22, 2019, at Our Diamond Dreams Field. After dropping the opener, 1-0, Riley went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI, while Oehler pitched a complete game three-hit shutout to lead Lehman to a 10-0 victory the nightcap.
