Box Score Myrtle Beach, SC – The Lehman College baseball squad dropped a 16-5 decision against Catholic University earlier today at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, SC. 
 
The Cardinals plated three runs in each of the first three innings to take a commanding lead.  The Lightning scored all four of their runs in the seventh but by then the score was 12-4.  Sal Ventola reached second on an error to lead off the frame and advanced to third on a ground out.  Nico Rijo proceeded to single to left to score Ventola.  After back to back walks Rob Kiernan and Anthony Riley, the Lightning had the bases loaded with one out.  Kyle James grounded into a fielder's choice which plated scored Rijo.  Mike Zerbo then singles to left field scoring Kiernan and James.    Lehman's final run of the game came in the ninth inning.  Zerbo drew a one out walk and after a single by Dionil Paredes the Lightning had runners on the corners with two outs.  Sal Ventola singled to left before the final out. 
 
The Lightning conclude their southern swing on Tuesday morning with a contest against Penn College of Technology.  First pitch is slated for 9 AM.
