Lightning Sides Hosts Twin-Bill On Wednesday

Bronx, N.Y. – Both Lehman College soccer team will hosts CUNYAC opponents on Wednesday at South Field with the women's squad taking on John Jay College at 4 pm ET, followed by the men's side facing CCNY at 6:30 pm ET.

The Lightning women (4-5; 1-1 CUNYAC) are aiming for their second victory in conference play as they meet the John Jay Bloodhounds (5-5; 2-0 CUNYAC) in first game of twin-bill.  Fans can follow all the action via live stats and live stream.

Lehman is coming off a 6-1 triumph over visiting York College-NY in CUNYAC play last week, thanks to four-goals by midfielder Melanie Siranaula and one each from teammate Micaela Canapa and forward Eliana Felix.  Meanwhile, John Jay dropped a 4-0 non-conference decision at Penn State Harrisburg on Monday.

The Lightning hold a 7-4 head-to-head record against the Bloodhounds since 2012, however John Jay has won three of the last four meetings.  The previous encounter against the two sides took place on this day (October 19th) two years ago with hosts Bloodhounds winning 2-0 at Randall's Island.

In the nightcap at South Field on Wednesday, the Lehman men (7-3-1; 5-1 CUNYAC) are looking to secure a 2nd consecutive conference regular season title, as it squares off against CCNY Beavers (4-6; 4-1 CUNYAC). Fans can follow all the action via live stats and live stream.

The Lightning men, who have already clinched a first-round bye and will hosts a semifinal match in the CUNYAC Championships, are coming off their fifth consecutive conference victory after defeating hosts Baruch College, 4-0, at Randall's Island over the weekend.  Forward Ebenezer Otoo, midfielders Thierno Aw, Mubarak Ouro and Claude Romauld all scored for Lehman.

Meanwhile, CCNY is coming off a 10-0 non-conference loss at William Paterson University on Monday.

The Lightning have a slim 6-5-2 advantage over the Beavers in the head-to-head meetings since 2009.  In the last meeting on September 21, 2019, Lehman won its third consecutive game against CCNY, 8-0, at Randall's Island.  Ouro had a season-high four goals for the Lightning.
