Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's swimming team fell 125-49 to visiting Hunter College in a CUNYAC match-up on Wednesday evening at THE APEX Pool. The Lightning drop to an 0-2 overall record and 0-1 in CUNYAC action, while the Hawks go to 1-0 (1-0 in conference) mark.
Arlene Suzana led the way for Lehman as she claimed her first collegiate gold taking the 200 IM at a time of 2:34.45. Suzana also won silver in the 100 Freestyle clocking in at 59.45.
Xitlali Martinez took second place in the 50 Freestyle (32.25), while Ofelia Valadez finished third in the 100 Butterfly (1:17.64) and 100 Breaststroke (1:28.31).
Mariana Valdez-Martinez earned the bronze in 50 Freestyle (35.74), while Elizabeth DeLaCruz took third in 200 Freestyle (3:12.11) and 500 Freestyle (9:08.88). DeLaCruz was also on the silver medal side in the 200 Freestyle Relay (2:49.41) that also included Gisley Velez, Aisling Burgos and Nusrat Alam
The Lightning women will be back in action, along with the men's squad, on Saturday (November 16
th) when both travel for a non-conference match-up at Western Connecticut State.
