Bronx, N.Y. – For the fifth time in its history, and first since 2017, the Lehman College men's soccer team will compete at the 64-team field of NCAA Division III Championship Tournament; when on Monday the CUNYAC champion learned its opponent as it will travel Baltimore, Md. to take on Johns Hopkins University this Saturday in the opening round at Homewood Field with kickoff set for 4:30 pm ET.
The Lehman-Johns Hopkins winner will face the winner of the other first round encounter that takes place at 7 pm ET on Saturday at Homewood Field between John Carroll (15-4-1) and Scranton (11-6-2).
The Lightning, who have a 10-4-2 overall record this season, secured its berth to the NCAA Tournament last Saturday when it captured the CUNYAC Championship after defeating defending and regular season winners Baruch College, 3-1, at Queens College.
Meanwhile, Johns Hopkins (12-1-7) is coming off a 5-4 penalty kick loss to visiting Muhlenberg College on Sunday in the Centennial Conference Championship Final at Homewood Field. However, the hosts earned an at-large bid to the 'Big Dance.' It is also the first time since 2019 that Hopkins competes against a CUNYAC team in NCAA Tournament.
Lehman, which is looking to become first CUNYAC side to win a game at the NCAA Tournament, previous competed at the event on November 11, 2017, when it dropped a 2-0 decision against hosts Lycoming College.
