Lightning Travel To Face Bearcats In CUNYAC Women’s Basketball Quarterfinal On Sunday

Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's basketball team will travel to Manhattan to face Baruch College in a quarterfinal game of CUNYAC Championships at Arc Arena on Sunday at 1 pm ET.

Lehman, which is making its return to the postseason since 2018, earned the number sixth seed at the conference tournament after a 2-10 CUNYAC record and 3-16 overall.  The Lightning will square off against the third-seeded Bearcats (9-10; 7-5 CUNYAC).  Fans can follow all the action online via live stream.

If Lehman is victorious over Baruch on Sunday it will advance to CUNYAC semifinals next Tuesday (Feb. 22nd) against the winner of #2-John Jay College vs. #7-CCNY.

The Bearcats hold a 28-10 advantage in the head-to-head meetings against the Lightning since 2003.  Baruch has won the previous six encounters.  The last time both sides faced off was on Feb. 12th at The APEX Main Gym with the Bearcats winning 55-39.  Brianna Barnes paced the Lehman offense with 25 points, nine rebounds, four steals and two blocked shots.

Elsewhere, after competing at West Point Tune Up at Gillis Field House in U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y. on Saturday, the Lehman men's and women's track and field sides will conclude its busy weekend as it heads to New Jersey to compete at Princeton University Invitational in Jadwin Gymnasium starting a 10:30 am ET on Sunday.

The Lightning are in their final preparations for the CUNYAC Indoor Track and Field Championships at the end of this month.
