Men's Indoor Track & Field

Track Competes at the Annual DeSchriver Invitational

Both the Lehman College men's and women's indoor track and field teams delivered strong performances across multiple events at the DeSchriver Invitational hosted by East Stroudsburg University (PA), highlighted by personal records in the throws, solid sprint, and competitive relay performances.

The Lehman women were led by standout efforts in the throws. Abena Abankwa had an excellent meet, recording personal-best marks of 9.02 meters in shot put and 8.81 meters in weight throw. Elainne Rojas Mesa also posted PRs in both events, highlighted by an 8.52-meter personal best in shot put and a 7.81-meter mark in weight throw. Oluwaseun Adetunji added another PR for the Lightning with a 6.81-meter throw in the shot put, while recording 7.04 meters in the weight throw.

On the track, Shivani Raghuthu competed in the 800 meters and set a personal record with a time of 3:07.86, while also throwing 3.46 meters in the weight throw. Amariah Emanuel-Tyler contributed in the field events, recording 3.76 meters in long jump and a 6.55-meter mark in shot put.

The Lehman men showed great efforts in the sprints, distance, jumps, and throws. Linbel Lloveres led the sprint group with times of 7.17 seconds in the 55-meter dash, 10.60 seconds in the 55-meter hurdles, and 24.88 seconds in the 200 meters, while Joshua Bennett followed closely with a 7.19-second finish in the 55 meters. Eberto Fernandez posted a personal-best 24.17 seconds in the 200 meters and added a 56.98 finish in the 400 meters, while Brandon Dennis clocked 58.05 seconds in the 400 meters.

In the middle and distance events, Fernando Madrid and Oludemilade Lekan Michael recorded times of 2:27.09 and 2:27.30, respectively, in the 800 meters, while Marc Saint-Hilaire competed in the 3000 meters, finishing in 10:36.16. Mohamed Donzo added a 10.30-meter mark in triple jump, and Tyler Rosa contributed with 5.08 meters in long jump and 7.56 meters in shot put.

The throwers continued to shine, as Jormy Polo led Lehman with 9.99 meters in shot put and 10.29 meters in weight throw, while Charles Howard recorded 9.14 meters in shot put and a strong 11.59-meter mark in weight throw. Daniel Raji-Bolaji added 9.88 meters in weight throw, and Jalen Alvarado finished with 6.40 meters in weight throw as well.

The Lightning closed the meet with solid relay times. The men's Distance Medley Relay team of Fernando Madrid, Mohamed Donzo, Oludemilade Lekan Michael, and Marc Saint-Hilaire finished with a time of 12:24.89, while the 4x200-meter relay squad of Linbel Lloveres, Isaias Ventura-Feliz, Eberto Fernandez, and Joshua Bennett clocked 1:38.96  .

Lehman College looks to build on these performances as the Lightning continue their indoor track and field season at Fasttrack Last Chance Invite at Ocean Breeze Track and Field.
