Baseball, Softball and Tennis Look to Make it a Good Friday

The Lehman College baseball team, softball and men's tennis squad will all be in action today.  The Lightning will host John Jay at noon in a CUNYAC doubleheader on the South Field.  The softball team will travel to York also for a 12 PM twinbill.  Meanwhile the men's tennis team will battle Pratt on the APEX Courts beginning at 4:45 PM.

Earlier this year, the Lightning (5-8:3-3) split with the Bloodhounds (4-22:2-4).  Lehman took the first game at Maimonides Park in Coney Island 12-8 but dropped the nightcap 10-7.  Fans unable to attend the games can view all of the action via a free live stream.  Game 1 & Game 2.  The Lightning and Bloodhounds have played 27 times on the diamond since 2009 with Lehman owning a 15-12 mark.

The diamond ladies team will travel to York to take on the Cardinals for the first time this season.  York will return the trip to Lehman on Monday afternoon.  The Cardinals (0-8:0-4) come into today's contest looking for their first win of the season.  Yesterday, York dropped a pair of contests to Baruch.  Friday's 12 PM doubleheader will be played at Padavan-Preller Field in Bellrose, NY.   The Lightning have won the last 15 meetings and own an 18-2 record over the Cardinals since 2008.

The tennis team is coming off a 7-2 defeat to Brooklyn earlier this week and now stand at 1-5 on the season.  This is the first meeting between the two schools on the tennis courts.  Pratt enters todays match with a record of 3-1.  The Cannoneers are riding a three-match winning streak with victories coming over Vaughn, Webb and Mt. St. Mary.  First serve on the APEX Courts is scheduled for 4:45 PM.
