Baseball Greets Old Westbury On Thursday........ Tennis Travels to West Conn

Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College baseball team will greet College at Old Westbury in a non-conference encounter on Thursday at South Field with first pitch set for 3:30 pm ET.  Fans can also follow all the action via live stream. Tennis travels to West Conn.

The Lightning (6-9) are coming off a home doubleheader split against CUNYAC rival John Jay College last week at South Field.  Lehman won the opener, 10-1, as it was led by Nomar Rijo who was a double shy of the cycle as he hit a single, triple and a home run, while driving in three RBI and scoring twice.  Randy Polance pitched 6.1 innings and struck out eight batters for the victory on the mound.  The Lightning dropped the nightcap to the Bloodhounds, 13-10.

Meanwhile the Old Westbury Panthers (8-20) split a Skyline Conference twin-bill against visiting Mount St. Mary's College-NY over the weekend.  After winning the first game, 8-7, Old Westbury lost the nightcap, 14-5.

The Panthers have won 13 of the last 14 head-to-head encounters against the Lightning since 2007.  The last time both sides met was on April 20, 2018, as hosts posted a 10-9 victory, in 10 innings, at Old Westbury's Jackie Robinson A.C.

In other action, the Lehman College men's tennis team will hit the road for their final road trip of the regular season this afternoon as they travel to Danbury, Connecticut to face the Colonials.  First serve is scheduled for 3 PM.

The Lightning stand at 2-5 this spring and are coming off a 7-2 victory over Pratt.  West Conn owns a 2-7 record having dropped their last two contests to Salem State and UMass Boston.
