Box Score Patchogue, N.Y. – The Lehman College baseball team concluded its regular season with a 12-7 non-conference loss against hosts St. Joseph's College-LI at Gregg Alfano Field on Sunday. The Lightning fall to a 6-16 overall record, while the Golden Eagles improve to 19-11.
St. Joseph's-LI jumped out to an 8-1 lead early and had a 12-4 advantage going into the eighth inning of play. The Lightning got three runs in the eighth to cut the deficit however the Golden Eagles held on for the victory.
Patrick Ortiz drove in three runs (went one-for-five) for Lehman, while
Justin Nunez added two RBI as he went three-for-four with two runs scored.
Eamon Maher also crossed home plate twice, while going two-for-four at bat.
The Lightning open the CUNYAC postseason on Tuesday when they take on hosts Baruch College in a play-in game at Flowers Park in New Rochelle, N.Y. with first pitch set for 3 pm ET.
