Baseball Falls in Two to CCNY in CUNYAC Championship

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Playing in their first CUNYAC Baseball Championship Series in 20 years, the Lightning dropped the opening game of the best of three series 10-0.  The Beavers scored in every inning thanks in part to getting the lead off hitter on in seven of their eight at bats. In the nightcap, Lehman and City were going back and forth until the ninth inning when the Beavers plated 13 runs to secure the championship 20-8.

In game one, the Lightning managed seven hits, including three by DH Eli Fermin. The Beavers scored in each of their eight at bats en route to victory. 

In game 2, the Beavers struck first with two runs in the top of the second.  Lehman scored their first run of the day in the bottom of the second whn Jeremmy Santos smacked a ball over the left field fence.  Lehman would tie the game in the home half of the half, as Frederick dela Rosa led off the frame with a double to left and Fermin belted a triple to center field.  The Beavers would retake the lead in the fourth with a pair of runs and added another in the fith.  the Lightning would answer in the fifth with two runs of their own.  Lehman would load the bases when dela Rosa delivered a one out double to left center which was followed by a hit by pitch and a walk to Pinedo.  Rijo then proceeded to double to right center scoring two.    The Beavers would then add a run in the top of the seventh.  Lehman would plate four runs in the bottom half of the inning.  Pinedo reached via a hit by pitch  and advanced to second after an base on balls to RIjo.  Satnos then knocked a single to center to load the bases.  Nunez then walked to score Pinedo. Glennd Jarrin hits a sacrificed fly to left to score Rijo.  The Lightning would then load the bases again after dela Rosa reached on an error. Fermin then singled to left center to score Nunez and Santos.  The Beavers got one back in the 8th to trail 8-7 heading to the ninth inning.  However, in the ninth the Beavers scored 13 times to secure the victory and win the CUNYAC Baseball Championship.
