Bronx, N.Y. – Both Lehman College swimming and diving teams fell in CUNYAC action against visiting Baruch College on Thursday evening at The APEX pool as the men's side lost 134-51, while the women's squad dropped 99-66 decision.
The Lightning men (4-3; 0-2 CUNYAC) were led by
Brahian Castillo as he captured gold in the 100 Breaststroke (1:16.23) and was on the winning 200 Freestyle Relay Team (1:46.00) along with
Brandon Coombs,
Adam Byrne and
Juan Rodriguez.
The highlight for the Lehman women (2-6, 0-3 CUNYAC) came from
Arlene Suzana as she won the 100 Butterfly (1:12.41) and 200 Freestyle (2:12.88). Suzana also won gold in the 200 Freestyle Relay (2:07.23) along with
Bailey Reeves,
Ofelia Valadez and Gisely Velez. Valadez also finished atop in the 100 Breaststroke (1:26.65), while
Danelli Lora claimed first in the 1 Meter Diving (117.82).
The Lightning continue CUNYAC action next Thursday (January 18th) when they travel to face York College-NY with the first event set for 6 pm ET.
