Swimmers Earn Split Against Maritime

Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College swimmers earned a split against visiting Maritime College in a non-conference match-up at The APEX Pool on Thursday evening with the women's side winning 78-75, while the men's squad lost 144-26.

The Lightning women were paced by Liberty Almanzar and Amya Sanchez as they won the 100 Backstroke (1:13.30) and 200 IM (3:00.93), respectively.  Almanzar and Sanchez were joined by Mariella Nunez and Gisley Velez as they captured gold in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 2:23.42.  Patricia Soriano also finished first as she claimed the 100 Butterfly clocking in at 1:40.66.

For the Lehman men, Dexter Vizhco won the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:06.68.

The Lightning will be back in action on November 7th when it hosts Mount St. Mary's College-NY in a non-conference affair at The APEX Pool with a 6 pm ET start time.
