Track and FIeld Competes at FDU - Battle of Madison

Both the Lehman College men's and women's outdoor track and field teams turned in a strong performance at the FDU-Florham Battle of Madison (March 29, 2026) in Madison, NJ, highlighted by several personal records, top-five finishes, and strong relay results.


The Lightning women were led by Amariah Emanuel-Tyler, who posted multiple personal records and top finishes, including 4th place in the high jump (1.30m), 6th in the long jump (3.86m), and PR marks in the discus (19.27m), hammer (15.35m), and javelin (15.55m).

The throwing group continued to stand out as Alanis Vasquez placed 4th in the javelin (28.21m) and added strong marks in the discus ( 21.46m) and shot put (7.76m). Elainne Rojas Mesa recorded a personal-best 22.21m in the discus for 6th place and shot put (8.32m), while Abena Abankwa delivered one of the top field performances with a 4th-place finish in the hammer throw (PR 25.53m) and 4th in the shot put (8.77m). Enalyse Pacheco also placed 6th in the javelin (26.42m), and Oluwaseun Adetunji added PRs in both the hammer (21.86m) and javelin (12.64m).

On the track, Danika Brown and Naomi Felton finished 6th and 7th in the 100 meters, while Malalia Siafa-Bangura ran a personal-best 1:11.63 in the 400 meters. The women's relay teams also competed well, finishing in 1:02.65 in the 4x100 and 5:14.69 in the 4x400.


The men were led by standout performances in the middle distance and field events. Marc Saint-Hilaire had one of the top finishes of the meet, placing 2nd in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:27.99, while Jonathan Pagan (5:08.41)and Francisco Gonzalez Sanchez (5:53.45) also contributed in the event.

In the sprints, Eberto Fernandez placed 7th in the 200 meters (24.16) and 6th in the 400 meters (58.63). Joshua Bennett added top-15 finishes in both the 100 and 200 meters, and Linbel Lloveres recorded a 3rd-place personal best in the 110-meter hurdles (19.84)  .

The men's throwers had an excellent day. Jormy Polo led the way with a 1st-place finish in the hammer throw (25.49m), while also placing in the discus (21.28m), javelin (31.75m), and shot put (9.94m). Charles Howard added multiple top finishes, highlighted by 2nd place in both the javelin (35.56m) and hammer throw (24.59m). In the jumps, Jahu Johnson posted a personal-best 1.60m in the high jump, and Tyler Rosa contributed in the long jump with a mark of 4.84m.

The men's relay teams also had a strong showing, with the 4x100 placing 5th (47.41) and the A team 4x400 relay finishing 3rd in 3:46.33, while the B team placed 6th.

Lehman College will return to action next at the Stockton University Osprey Open in Galloway, NJ, as the Lightning continue their outdoor season.
