Men’s Soccer Fall To Salisbury In Seahawk Classic Opener

Box Score St. Mary's City, Md. – The Lehman College men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Salisbury University on Saturday in the opening match of the Seahawk Classic, hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium.

The Lightning (0-1-1) kept the match scoreless for the opening 36 minutes. However, the Sea Gulls (3-0-1) broke through just a minute later when midfielder Kai Lindsay scored off an assist from forward Yasseen Mohamed.

Salisbury extended its lead to 2-0 early in the second half, as forward Liam Pierce found the back of the net three minutes after the intermission via a pass from midfielder Zach Johnson. Mohamed capped off the scoring for the Sea Gulls with 11 minutes remaining in regulation, assisted by Lindsay.

Lehman goalkeeper Matthew Strainz delivered a busy performance, facing 32 total shots—eight of which were on target—while recording four saves.

The Lightning wrap up play at the Seahawk Classic tomorrow, Sunday, September 13, when they face the host Seahawks at 2 pm ET.
