Considered one of the hardest-working players to ever play for the Lehman College men’s basketball program, Jonathan Rojas’ diligent efforts earned him the reputation of a fearless court leader who would do anything to help his team be successful. A three-time All-CUNYAC All-Star who scored 1,358 points for his career, Rojas was a true general on the basketball court. His vigorous offseason workouts, as well as his court prowess and athleticism helped him pull down more than 500 rebounds and dish out more than 250 assists in his stellar career. In his final season, the 2003-2004 campaign, he was named an All-Atlantic Region All-Star as he led the Lightning in scoring and rebounding while also helping the team capture the 2004 CUNYAC championship and qualify for the NCAA Division III National Tournament. The accomplishment was even more special being that the 03’-04’ team was the first squad in Lehman history to qualify for the tournament. During his time at the institution, the Lightning won two CUNYAC North Division crowns and one CUNYAC title while qualifying for the ECAC Metro NY/NJ Men’s Basketball Tournament once and the NCAA Tournament once. Jonathan Rojas left a mark on the Lehman College men’s basketball program that will not soon be forgotten.
