MEN'S VOLLEYBALL TEAM CAN'T ESTABLISH RHYTHM IN LOSS TO MOUNT SAINT VINCENT

The Lehman College men's volleyball team (4-9 Overall, 2-6 CUNYAC) dropped their fourth consecutive match, falling to the Dolphins of the College of Mount Saint Vincent (8-8 Overall, 4-0 Skyline) by scores of 11-30, 10-30, and 15-30 Monday evening at the Hayes Gymnasium in Riverdale, New York.

 

Despite the loss for the Lightning, sophomore sensation Jonathan Cruz put forth another hearty effort, tallying a team-high seven kills to go along with three digs. Junior Nate Martin added five kills and four service aces, and RJ LeBlanc chipped in with four kills. Senior setter Matthew De Tiberiis recorded a team-high eight assists. Lehman College struggled to find rhythm, hitting - .104 on the evening.

 

In the win for the Dolphins, sophomore David Guerrero led the way for his squad, hitting .304 for the match and recording 11 killls. He also finished the night with seven service aces and six digs. Senior T.J. Pufahl also chipped in with 11 kills, hitting .444 on the night. Junior Rob Hockenjos finished the match with eight kills and three total blocks and John Furka recorded a .429 hitting percentage with seven kills. Michael Quinn paced the Dolphins with a match-high 19 assists to go along with three service aces.

 

The Lightning will look to get back on track Thursday evening as the team returns from to the Bronx to battle the Brooklyn College Bridges, with match-time at the APEX Center scheduled for 7:00pm.
