The Lehman College men's and women's basketball teams will be back in action on Monday evening as the squads will participate in a pair of non-conference contests at the APEX Center. The Lightning women will battle the Richard Stockton Ospreys at 6:00pm, and that game will be followed by a tussle between the Lehman men and the New Jersey City University Gothic Knights. Live statistics for the women's contests will be available by clicking here, and for the men's battle by hitting here.
The Lightning women have turned the corner since the Calendar turned to 2010. Since the new year began, the Lightning have posted a 2-1 record, and were a defensive stop against Staten Island away from being perfect for the month of January. Lehman downed Keystone College by a score of 57-53 back on January 4th before falling to CSI 48-47 on January 6th, and this past Friday – in perhaps the most exciting game of the season – Lehman outlasted Hunter in overtime 74-72. All three games took place at the APEX Center, and tonight's contest against Richard Stockton will also be played at the home of the Lightning.
Lehman's men's team is trying to find its way after dropping its first two games in 2010. The Lightning dropped a heart-breaking contest to the Dolphins of the College of Staten Island, 66-64 at the APEX back on January 6th before being turned back by Hunter College 85-67 on January 8th. The Lightning will attempt to get back on the winning track tonight against a tough NJAC opponent in NJCU.
All in all, tonight's action at the APEX Center should be very entertaining.
