Bronx, N.Y. - The Lehman College women's tennis team raked in its second win of the season this past Sunday afternoon, turning back the Bears of St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) 7-2. In a strange turn of events, the Lightning also suffered a 6-3 loss to that same St. Joseph's team on the same day as the teams were forced to complete a previously scheduled game from October 14 that was halted at the time by rain.
In the originally scheduled game, Lehman dominated, with the Lightning taking all but one of the singles matches behind
Ravnit Bhatia,
Nellya Blinova,
Patricia Cadet,
Fiona Crowley and
Jeremaeh Torres. Blinova was especially dominant in her match against Patricia Nealon, as she did not surrender a single point in winning 10-0. Crowley and Torres were also both exceptionally strong in winning 10-1.
On the doubles side, the combos of Bhatia and Blinova, and Crowley and
Bibiana Reyes, earned 8-0 and 8-3 wins, respectively.
