JAMAICA, N.Y. - Perhaps it was the 10 days between matches that was the Lightning's undoing on Tuesday night.

Competing in its first match since February 19, the Lehman men's volleyball team fell in straight sets to host York College - 25-18, 25-18, 28-26 - to drop to 7-5 on the season.

Luis Colon led the Lightning's underwhelming attack with nine kills, while Brian Francisco and Manuel Bonilla each registered seven putaways.  Setter Miguel Gallardo racked up 26 assists and 10 digs in the losing effort.  Lehman uncharacteristically committed 13 service errors for the match.

The visiting Lightning seemed to match the Cardinals point for point in the early going of both the first and second sets, but was done in by mid-set runs by York.  Having dropped the first set and trailing 13-12 in the second, Lehman watched the Cardinals take the next six points to grab control on their way to the set win and commanding 2-0 lead.

Coach Wolfgang Lucena and his crew will look to get back in the win column on Thursday when the team visits John Jay College for a 6 p.m. match.
