Hunter Tops Lightning Volleyball 3-0 for Second Time in Four Days

NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Hunter Hawks followed up Saturday's 3-0 victory over the Lightning with a similar 3-0 win on Tuesday night, beating Lehman 25-13, 25-19, 25-16 to remain undefeated in the conference at 12-0. Lehman dropped to 8-5 with the loss.

Hunter's Chris Newcomb led a balanced attack with nine kills and setter Stanley Martinez had 22 assists. The Hawks also recorded eight team blocks.

Lehman was led by Manuel Bonilla's eight kills. Miguel Gallardo tallied 22 assists.

The Lightning shockingly did not fire a single service ace in the contest, the first time that has happened this season. In the previous meeting with Hunter four days ago, Lehman tallied just one.

At this point, the Lightning is essentially locked into the No. 4 spot in the CUNYAC Championships despite its upcoming match against York (8-2 CUNYAC) on Thursday at the APEX.
