Volleyball Drops a Pair vs. Mt. St. Vincent and Bard

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - If the Lightning men's volleyball team was hoping to build momentum heading into the upcoming CUNYAC Championships, it is running out of time to do so.

On Saturday Lehman was defeated by Mount Saint Vincent, 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 25-22, 25-23), and Bard, 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-20), as part of a doubleheader played on the Dolphins' Riverdale campus. 

In the first match, three Lightning players registered 10 or more kills, led by Brian Francisco's 14 putaways.  Luis Colon added 12 and Manuel Bonilla smashed 11.  Francisco also hit at an impressive .391 percentage.  Lehman collected 13 team block as well.

The day's second match featured Colon leading the team with 10 kills.  Orlando Vargas tallied five kills and a team-high eight digs.  Francisco notched eight kills and improved his attack percentage to .417.

Primary setter Miguel Gallardo combined for 48 assists in the two matches.

Lehman's final match of the regular season does not come until April 4 against Ramapo College on the Roadrunners home court.
