Box Score

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Luis Colon stepped into the setter position normally manned by Miguel Gallardo and Manuel Bonilla fired 10 service aces as the Lightning kept host Medgar Evers winless by defeating the Cougars 3-1 (0-5, 25-14, 25-13, 25-22) on Tuesday night.

Colon, a jack-of-all-trades type player for the Lightning, filled in more than capably for Gallardo by recording 15 assists.  In addition to his strong game from the service line, Bonilla slammed a team-high nine kills.  Ahmad Abugharbieh, seeing his first action of the season for the Lightning, registered six kills, two digs and two solo blocks.

Lehman was forced to forfeit the first set by rule for beginning the match late, but then proceeded to take care of business and improving to 9-6 on the season.

The Lightning will next play SUNY Purchase this coming Friday at the APEX Center.  Game time is set for 8 p.m.
