Men's Volleyball Sweeps Yeshiva and Washington Adventist, Remains Undefeated on the Season

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The men's volleyball team swept a pair of matches on Sunday in straight sets, beating the host Yeshiva University and Washington Adventist. Set scores against YU were 25-18, 25-21, and 26-24, while the WAU scores were 25-19, 25-9, 25-22.

In the opener against the hosts, Lehman held off the Maccabees, who rallied late. Senior Brian Francisco (Bronx, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) had 15 kills in the match, hitting .286. He added a team-high 13 digs. Junior Manuel Bonilla (Bronx, N.Y./Walton) added nine kills, while senior Luis Colon (Bronx, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) had 30 set assists.

In the second match, Francisco had a match-high 12 kills with seven assists, though Colon was the top assist man with 24. Colon also had nine digs.

The Lightning are now 3-0 on the nascent season, and will take over a week's break before heading to Brooklyn to face NYU-Polytechnic on February 5.
