Men's Volleyball Falls at Brooklyn in Straight Sets

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's volleyball team took a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Brooklyn College Bulldogs on Wednesday night. Set scores were 25-13, 25-19, 25-20. Lehman is now 7-9 overall, and 2-6 in the CUNY Athletic Conference, while Brooklyn is 6-8, and 4-3 in the CUNYAC.

In the first set, BC jumped out to a fast 9-0 lead, then cruised to the win. In the second, Lehman had the score tied at 5-5 before BC went on a 6-0 run to break the set wide open.

In the third, Lehman had a 7-5 lead, and eventually the score was tied at 15 all. Shortly thereafter, the score was 18-18, with Lehman serving. But the host Bulldogs closed out the match on a 7-2 run.

On the night, senior Brian Francisco (Bronx, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) had a team-high eight kills and six digs. Junior Andrew Morejon (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) had three kills, seven digs, and two solo blocks.

The Lightning head to Riverdale on Thursday night to face the College of Mt. St. Vincent, at 6:00 p.m.
