STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Tuesday is Gameday for the women's and men's basketball teams, who play at the College of Staten Island. The women will tip at 5:30 p.m., with the men to follow, around 7:30 p.m.
The women's game features two of the top teams in the conference. Lehman is 9-4 overall, and 3-1 in the CUNYAC, while CSI is 8-3 overall, and 4-0 in the CUNYAC. Lehman is led by the reigning CUNYAC/Con Edison Rookie of the Week, Amely Del Rosario, who is the only CUNYAC player to average at least 20 points per game. Right now, she's scoring 20.2 ppg.
The men's game is a battle between the top two teams in the CUNYAC. CSI is in first place, at 3-0, while Lehman is a half game back, at 3-1. Lehman will need this week's CUNYAC/Con Edison Player of the Week, Jerrome Jones (Bronx, N.Y./Mt. Vernon) to have another big game. Jones averages 18.4 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
