Box Score BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's basketball team fell to Brooklyn College, 91-72, in CUNY Athletic Conference action, on Friday evening.
Senior guard Jonathan Greenfield (Hartford, Conn./Windsor) led the way for the Lightning (5-4, 2-2 CUNYAC) with 21 points.
Lehman kept the game close through most of the first half, as sophomore forward Driton Hasangjekaj's (Bronx, N.Y./DeWitt Clinton) layup narrowed Brooklyn's (10-1, 4-0 CUNYAC) lead to 19-13, with 13:13 left to play in the opening half. Greenfield continued Lehman's surge by laying the ball up and in to pull the Lightning within one, 26-25, with 9:17 remaining in the first stanza.
Brooklyn would turn momentum back into their favor by scoring eight of the game's next ten points, to jump out to a 34-27 lead, with 6:19 left in the first half. Lehman went into the locker rooms down 49-37.
The Bulldogs remained in control throughout the second half, as Lehman trailed by double-digits for the remaining 20 minutes of the game. Brooklyn went on to win, 91-72.
Hasangjekaj produced 11 points. Junior forward Chaun Miller (Brooklyn, N.Y./Eleanor Roosevelt) grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds and scored eight points. Freshman guard John Brens (Washington Heights, N.Y./All Hallows) forced four steals.
Lehman will return to the friendly confines of the APEX Main Gym on Tuesday, for a non-conference game against Yeshiva University, at 8:00 p.m.
