Men's Volleyball Drops a Pair of Matches in Massachusetts

NEWTON, Mass. – The Lehman College men's volleyball team dropped a pair of non-region matches on Saturday, falling to host Mt. Ida College and Newbury College, by identical 3-0 scores.

Against Mt. Ida, set scores were 25-19, 25-18, 25-18. Sophomore Jaleel Lino (Bronx, N.Y./Toledo C.C.) led the attack with 12 kills, hitting .212. He added a team-high ten digs. Junior Miguel Gallardo (Bronx, N.Y./Salesian) added seven kills and six digs, while sophomore Ramon Jimenez (New York, N.Y./George Washington) added six kills. Classmate Roberto Perez (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx Leadership) had 23 set assists.

In the second match, against Newbury, set scores were 25-15, 25-17, and 25-20. Once again, Lino led the attack with 17 kills, while hitting .282. Gallardo added seven kills, and six digs, while Perez contributed 24 set assists and eight digs.

Up next, Lehman will host Brooklyn College and St. Joseph's of Brooklyn on Wednesday night, with first serve scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
