Lightning and Bulldogs Set to Tangle in Battle for Early Conference Lead

Bronx, NY - The winner of tonight's match-up in both games, will take will remain unbeaten in conference play and sit atop of the CUNYAC standings. CSI is also unbeaten in men's and women's play but is idle tonight.

The women's game verse Brooklyn (6-3:3-0) tips at 5:00 PM in the APEX. In their last outings both teams had easy conference victories. The Lightning (5-3:3-0) topped York 76-48 while the Bulldogs handled Medgar Evers 90-32. The Lightning are winners of their last four. Amely Del Rosario and Jennifer Navarro lead the team. Del Rosario is averaging almost 22 points per night while Navarro is netting almost 21 points per game. The duo rank 1^st and 2^nd in scoring in the CUNYAC. The men's contest has the same story line on the table. The winner takes over sole possession of first place in the conference. The Lightning (6-2:3-0) are riding a five game winning streak. In their last outing, Lehman defeated York 81-65. A balanced scoring attack once again proved to be the winning formula as Lehman's top six scorers all tallied between 9-20 points. Brooklyn (9-1:3-0) lost for the first time this past Wednesday night falling in a non-league contest to Albertus Magnus 106-89. This week the Bulldogs were ranked #17 in the country by D3Hoops.com.
