Minott Leads Lightning to Victory

Bronx, NY - Olando Minott netted a team high 19 points to lead the Lighting to a 90-67 victory over Maritime College (0-5). With the win, there third in a row, Lehman improves to 4-2.

Yoav Elbez recorded his first double double of the season scoring 16 points while grabbing a game high 10 rebounds. Chaun Miller added 15 while teammate Andrew Utate tallied 10 points.

For the third game in a row the Lightning found themselves hole early and for the third time they were able to dig themselves out and cruise to victory. Lehman trailed by 10, 24-14 midway through the opening period. But the Lighting outscored the Privateers 28-12 the final 10 minutes of the first half.

Lehman came out of the locker room ready to play in the second half as the Lightning scored the first nine points of the half to extend the lead to 51-36 with 17:54 to play. The Privateers could not mount a serious comeback and were never able to bring the Lehman lead down to single digits.

The Privateers, still looking for their first victory of the season, were led by John Liccese. The sophomore from the Bronx tallied 21 points in defeat.

The Lightning step back into CUNYAC play on Friday night as they host Medgar Evers College. Tip-off against the Cougars is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
