Box Score 2 NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's volleyball team won both matches in the CUNY Athletic Conference Multi-Match on Saturday, on the campus of the City College of New York. In the first match, Lehman defeated the College of Staten Island in straight sets. Set scores were 25-19, 25-17, and 27-25. In the second match, the Lightning were victorious against the Cougars of Medgar Evers, 3-0. Set scores for that match were 25-20, 25-6, and 25-10.
In the first match against the College of Staten Island, the Lightning had 10 total blocks as a team. Freshman
Carlos Segura (Bronx, N.Y./Marble Hill) had two solo blocks, while senior
Miguel Gallardo (Bronx, N.Y./Salesian) had five block assists.
Junior
Jaleel Lino (Punta Gorda, Belize/Toledo Community College) tallied a double-double with 12 kills and 16 digs. Gallardo and Segura slammed home eight kills each. Freshman
Emmanuel Ortiz (Bronx, N.Y./Alfred E. Smith) had 22 assists.
In Lehman's victory over Medgar Evers, Lino once again led the way on offense with 11 kills, while adding six digs and two service aces. Ortiz had six digs of his own, while Gallardo slammed home six kills. Senior
Ahmad Abugharbieh (Amman, Jordan/Ittihad) produced four kills and scored four service aces.
Lehman will host York College, in the APEX Main Gym, for Senior Night on Tuesday evening. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
