Box Score NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's volleyball team dropped its CUNY Athletic Conference match to John Jay in straight sets, at the Doghouse on Wednesday evening. Set scores were 25-17, 25-22, and 25-23. The Lightning fall to 4-4 in CUNYAC play, while the Bloodhounds advance their conference record to 5-3.
Senior Miguel Gallardo (Bronx, N.Y./Salesian) led the way for the Lightning, both on offense and defense, with 10 kills, 11 digs, and had 25 total attacks. Freshman Carlos Segura (Bronx, N.Y./Marble Hill) helped anchor the defense with nine digs, and chipped in on the attack with four kills. Junior Ramon Jimenez (New York, N.Y./George Washington) produced five kills, while senior Ahmad Abugharbieh (Amman, Jordan/Ittihad) slammed home four. Junior Roberto Perez (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx Leadership Academy) recorded eight digs, while freshman Henry Nunez (Bronx, N.Y./Walton) had six of his own.
Lehman will travel to York College on Saturday, to compete in two matches during the CUNYAC Multi-Match. The Lightning will battle the defending conference champion Baruch College at 1:00 p.m., followed by a rematch with John Jay at 5:00 p.m.
