BRONX, N.Y. – It is a busy weekend in Lehman College athletics, as the men's volleyball team and the women's indoor track and field team will be in action.
The men's volleyball team will travel to York College to compete in two matches at the CUNYAC Multi-Match, on Saturday. The Lightning will battle the defending conference champion Baruch College at 1:00 p.m., followed by a match with John Jay at 5:00 p.m. There will be no live stats or live streaming video for either contest. Lehman will be led by freshman Roberto Ventura Diaz (New York, N.Y./Cardenal Sancha) who is the reigning CUNYAC Rookie of the Week.
Junior Allie Bernasconi (Beacon, N.Y./John Jay) and sophomore Mary Johnson (Bronx, N.Y./Medical Science) of the nationally ranked #5 women's indoor track and field team will be competing in the ECAC Championships, at the New Balance Track and Field Center at the Armory, on Friday and Saturday. Bernasconi still holds the nation's top time in the 400 meter dash, as she finished the race in 56.67 seconds, at the CTC Championships, on February 8. Johnson is ranked 19th nationally in the 60 meters, with a time of 7.78 seconds, a feat that was accomplished at the FDU Knights Indoor Classic, back on December 7.
