BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's volleyball team will be competing in the CUNY Athletic Conference Championships, at Hunter College, on Friday evening.
The #5 Lightning will battle #1 Baruch in the CUNYAC Semifinals, beginning at 6:00 p.m. #2 Hunter will take on #3 York in the other semifinal match, at 4:00 p.m. The winner of both matches will square off in the Championship game, which will be streamed on
ESPN3, at 8:00 p.m.

Lehman is coming off a thrilling 3-1 victory over host #4 John Jay, in the CUNYAC Quarterfinals, on Tuesday evening. In that match, the Lightning were led by junior
Jaleel Lino (Punta Gorda, Belize), who tallied a match-high 28 kills. Senior
Miguel Gallardo (Bronx, N.Y./Salesian) tallied a double-double with 12 kills and 13 digs.
In the regular season, Baruch went 2-0 against Lehman. On February 26 at Baruch, the Bearcats won in straight sets. On March 7, in the CUNYAC Multi-Match held at York College, the Lightning fell 3-0.
For the season, Lino leads the team with an average of 4.01 kills per set. Gallardo has produced 10 double-doubles. Freshman setter
Emmanuel Ortiz (Bronx, N.Y./Alfred E. Smith) has been an effective playmaker, producing 681 total assists. Senior
Ahmad Abugharbieh (Amman, Jordan/Ittihad) has a team-high 69 blocks.
