The Lehman College men's volleyball team will begin their competitive season today as they travel to Albany, New York to face Sage College and Mount Saint Ida College in a tri-match. Rookie Head Coach Jose Toval has his troops ready for what should be a competitive season.
 
The Lightning are down three of their top five hitters from a year ago, but top returner Ramon Jimenez will be looking to pick up the slack. Jimenez registered 120 kills last season. Emmanuel Ortiz returns as Lehman's primary setter. Last year Ortiz led the team with over 700 set assists.
 
Last season the Lightning finished 16-14 overall and 8-8 in the CUNYAC, reaching the semifinals of the conference championships.
 
Lehman will face Sage at 11:00 a.m. followed by Mount Ida at 3:00 p.m. Live stats and a live video stream will be available for the contest against Sage.

The Lightning will then travel to Bard College on Tuesday night before returning to the APEX to host Yeshiva University in their home opener on Wednesday, February 3^rd at 8:00 p.m.
