Lightning Zone with Coach Schulman
Bronx, NY – The Lehman College men's basketball team will host the Maccabees of Yeshiva University on Wednesday night at 8:00 PM in the APEX. It will be the Lightning's final game before they take their holiday break.
Lehman enters tonight contest with a mark of 4-4 having dropped their most recent contest to the College of Staten Island 84-71. Five players tallied double figures for Lehman.
Andrew Utate paced Lehman with 20 points.
Jean Marcial came off the bench and netted a career high 14.
Damian Bellamy, the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week recorded a double double, scoring 12 points while grabbing 11 rebounds.
John Brens and Ed Pascaul chipped in 11 apiece. The Lightning shot 53% from the field in the first half and took a six point lead into the locker room at the half. However, in the second secondthe Lightning sharp shooters could not fine their range. Lehman netted 27 in the final twenty minutes but that was not enough to earn them the victory.
The Maccabees (6-4) have won five of their last six but dropped a 61-56 decision at the US Merchant Marine Academy on Monday night in a Skyline Conference game. Judah Cohen led the way for Yeshiva with 18 points. On the season, Cohen leads Yeshiva with a 17.8 points per game average. Also averaging double figures are Simcha Halpert and Michael Berg who are adding 12 and 11 points per night respectively.
